Liz Snyder Bowman joined HDMK in 2010, having served in top strategic communications and public affairs roles in both the corporate and nonprofit sector. Bowman has created comprehensive media strategies for state and national advocacy campaigns; and is skilled in using strategic communications, media relations and social media to further policy goals. She has also ghost written op-eds, blogs and letters to the editor for leaders in public policy.
 
Bowman served as the media strategist for The Pew Charitable Trusts' Pre-K Now campaign and was heavily involved in promoting multiple Pew Center on the States' reports. She also managed the media outreach and served as a spokesperson for Strong American Schools' ED in 08 campaign, a project of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. In this capacity, she generated positive news coverage for the campaign, managed staff in multiple states during the 2008 presidential election cycle and planned highly-visible events for business leaders and elected officials on the Strong American Schools' steering committee.
 
Bowman also managed media and government relations for DynCorp International, a major aviation services, U.S. government contractor and global services provider that currently operates in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
 
In addition to her professional experience, Bowman holds a master's degree in political communication from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in communication from Virginia Tech.
