Top Democratic Leadership Aide Mike Hacker to Join HDMK as Senior Vice President

June 16, 2011 WASHINGTON, DC – HDMK today announced that Mike Hacker, the long-time House Democratic leadership aide and party operative, will join the firm as Senior Vice President on July 1. Hacker greatly expands the firm’s capabilities in strategic advocacy, public affairs, communications and other core services. “This is a significant addition to our team and to HDMK’s capabilities to serve current and future clients. With more than 15 years experience advising Democratic Members of Congress, Hacker comes to HDMK from the Office of Assistant Democratic Leader and former Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, where he served as Floor Director and Senior Advisor. In that capacity he worked directly with Members of Congress and senior staff to move an ambitious legislative agenda through the House. In that role, he acted as the Democratic leadership’s primary liaison to the business community and was responsible for a broad legislative and political portfolio, including telecommunications, energy and financial services policy. Immediately prior to his position with the Majority Whip, he was a director at DC-based public affairs firm, where he focused on crisis communications and government relations for a number of Fortune 500 companies and trade associations. Mike began his Washington career in Michigan politics, serving in a variety of roles for House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman John D. Dingell and then Democratic Whip David Bonior.
